Calypso provides the architecture to help organizations manage change. Calypso has developed a comprehensive out of the box platform with an open architecture that has been battle-tested in mission-critical environments at some of the largest banks in the world.
The Calypso architecture is built organically rather than through acquisition. Our architect is 100% Java based, highly scalable, with stable open APIs, front-to-back office system across all assets, fully integrated with risk to allow customers to deliver innovation and products rapidly. Calypso’s Java APIs make it easy for end-users and Java developers to extensively configure and quickly implement the system, and adapt to changing needs without requiring outside services. Highlights of the Calypso architecture include:
- Calypso’s security and access permissions ensure system security by providing setup authorizations, access user and password maintenance, group level permissions, and the establishment of multi-entity scenarios.
- The Calypso architecture provides APIs for centralized enterprise system management, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Scalable for deployment to multiple servers, new locations, and users. Multi-threading and cached data improves performance, grid computing supports data intensive tasks, and sustain high volumes of concurrent trades and processes.
- High availability and disaster recovery through the stateless storage of all persistent data in the database to ensure consistency, supporting clustering and failover using redundant clustering servers.
- The Calypso Application and Migration (CAM) Tool provides a means of exporting, migrating, or restoring information from one Calypso database to another. Using a RDMBS-independent pure XML file, data is easily transport to another Calypso database of the same version.
- Calypso’s diagnostics provide a single-view interface for administrators to quickly view the health of the complete system — including an easy drill-down to specific subsystems — to pinpoint the root causes of any performance or stability issues.
